Frances Marie Ellington, 92, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at Warm Springs Hospital in New Braunfels. She was born July 13, 1921 in Bardwell to Clyde Homer and Myrtle Ramsey.
She lived most of her life in Corsicana. She was married to Charlie M. Ellington for 62 years and together they owned and operated Ellington Plumbing Company in Corsicana for almost 50 years.
Frances was a charter member of Second Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and she spent much of her time at the church and caring for others. She loved genealogy and was forever studying the family tree and researching her ancestry. She always had beautiful flowers in her garden and was especially fond of roses. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan.
Known as “Me maw” to her grandchildren, she was a strong lady that lived with dignity, compassion and understanding. She loved her family with all her heart.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Lowell Ramsey; and her sister, Velma Black.
She is survived by her sons, Ocie Wayne Ellington and wife, Joy; and Garry Neil Ellington and wife, Joann. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Charles Ross Ellington and wife, Sarah, Gary Wayne Ellington, Holly Shea Ellington and Hannah Jade Ellington; and great-granddaughter, Isabella. Frances is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Nelson Galaway and Mr. Wayne Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Holt, Morris Steward, Gene Gardner, Ronnie McNeil, Steve Tidwell, and David Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin Neal and Dick Singleton.
