Inez Marie Minyard, 83, was born in Waco on Nov. 14, 1930 to James and Opal Scott. She passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Katy, Texas.
Inez was raised in Corsicana and graduated from Corsicana High School. She married Howard Chester Minyard on March 15, 1953 and they were blessed with four sons. Inez was a very warm, engaging and selfless woman. Inez was an avid reader and a history buff. She loved nature and donated to many causes regarding the environment and to help wildlife. She was also an accomplished painter working mostly with watercolors. Her paintings graced the homes of all of her sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Opal, her sister Natalie Pine and her husband Howard.
She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Scott and Debbie, J.R. and Vicki, Bill and Karen, Tom and Michelle; Grandchildren, Jessa, Melissa, Kelsey, Jake, Chris Petty, Chris, Tommie, Colton and great-granddaughter Victoria.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Kerens.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Wildlife Center of Texas located at 7707 Katy Road, Houston, TX 77024.
