Mrs. Loretta Miller, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 in Woodway, Texas. She was born Oct. 8, 1925 on a farm near Angus, to Bert and Evelyn Jones. She was one of four daughters.
She met her husband William after World War II through his friend and her future brother-in-law. They were married Oct. 28, 1950. Together they had one son, Mark.
She worked for a number of years for an orthodontist; she also worked for 15 years for the U.S. Selective Service.
She was a long-time member of the Wesley Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She loved to read, garden, cook, and enjoyed her Bible study group. She also loved sports, especially the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Miller, her parents, and two of her sisters.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Michael Ann Miller, of Waco; her grandchildren: Blake Miller and Brooke Miller, both of Waco; her sister Jo Lucas of Irving, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Thomas Q. Robbins officiating. A private family burial will be held at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery after the services.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Miller, John Collier, Gordon Schroeder, Glenn Allen, Tom Hecker, and Paul Collier.
