Paul Ferguson, resident of Corsicana, passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with his family and friends at his side to be with his Father in Heaven at the age of 68. Paul was born in Madisonville, Texas to Jim Ferguson and Lois Hall Ferguson. He married Doniece Hearn and was drafted into the United States Army in November of 1966 and was discharged in November 1968. He retired from the Corsicana ISD where he was a teacher at Collins Middle School in 2011. He was a member at Calvary Worship Center in Corsicana where he loved to sing, worship and was a member of Southern Joy singing at church services and events all over the country.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Lois Ferguson, two brothers Donnie and Willie Ferguson and a sister Rheda Henry.
He is survived by his wife Doniece Hearn Ferguson of Corsicana; children, Cori Wossum and husband Chris of Corsicana, David Ferguson and wife Emily of Eureka and Hailee Ferguson of Corsicana; grandchildren, Colton Ogburn, Gracie Ferguson and Christopher Wossum. Paul is also survived by three sisters, Maxine Grimes of Dallas, Jo Hillegeist of Marquez and Melba Byers of Madisonville, and many loving nieces and nephews. Paul also had his music family that he loved so much; Elton Raney, Rudy Lopez and Joe Lopez and their families.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Worship Center in Corsicana with Dr. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton - Beeman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Walt Hillegeist, Brad Hillegeist, Lenson Hearn, Zane Hearn, Scott Henry, Mark Henry, Billy Byers and Bill Ferguson. Honorary Pallbearers will be B. J. Coker, Jack Lewis, Ronnie Slater, David Bilbo and Edward Hearn.
