— Ted Allen Schafer, resident of Corsicana, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at the age of 65. He was born Saturday, May 8, 1948 to Ted R. and Evelyn Bibb Schafer in Vancouver, Wash.

He is survived by wife Rosemary Schafer of Corsicana; son Carl Schafer of Corsicana; step-children, Paul Jock and wife Brena of Corsicana, Robbie Jock of Mildred, Joey Jock and wife Leah of Mildred, and eight step-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Roger Schafer of Corsicana; sister Shirley Hurley and husband Melvin of Corsicana; nephews Jeff Schafer, Jason Schafer and niece Becky Schafer.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in the 413 Transportation Company from September 1968 to September 1969. He was a member of the Corsicana VFW and the American Legion in Ennis.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 in the Chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Charlie Walpole, Billy Richardson, Monk Almond, Dennis Hall, Brian Jordan and Bobby Garrett.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VFW of Corsicana or American Legion of Ennis.
