Wanda Little

— Wanda Little went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 7, 2013. She had been a long-time resident of Navarro County, mostly in Chatfield. She was born Wanda Lee Farmer on Aug. 4, 1930 in Luling, Texas. Wanda attended Corsicana High School and later married Jimmy Little of Chatfield in 1948. She worked in retail sales most of her professional life mainly for Coopers Shoe Store, Dyer's and K. Wolens.

Wanda's life revolved around her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook and loved to spoil everyone with her specialties like macaroni and cheese, lemon pie, German chocolate cake and her fried apricot pies.

Wanda was a long-time member of the Chatfield Methodist Church. Even though in the latter years she could not attend she continued to support the church through her tithes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.N. (Jimmy) Little of Chatfield; parents, Mattie and Earnest Farmer of Retreat, a brother Douglas Farmer of Retreat and sister Queva Smith of Roseburg, Ore.

She is survived by her sister Zo Ann Brown of Corsicana; brother, Don Farmer of Corsicana; two sons, Mike Little and wife Kay of Bryan and Larry Little and wife Peggy of Richardson; two granddaughters, Kristen DeVore and Julianne Little; two grandsons, Grant Little and Austin Little; four great-grandchildren and many nephews and one niece.

A memorial service will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013. A reception for the family and friends will follow at the Chatfield-Tupelo Community Center. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chatfield Methodist Church.
