Ralph Edward Page

Corsicana —

Ralph Edward Page, 95, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 in Corsicana. He was born June 11, 1917 to William Meek and Rosa Ella Page in Titus County near Mt Pleasant on a cotton and livestock farm.

He graduated from East Texas State University in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master in Agriculture Education from Sam Houston State University in 1945.

In 1939 he started his 45 year teaching career in Purley,and from there taught in Bogata, Lufkin, Midlothian, Navarro College and Blooming Grove where he retired in 1984. He said many times he enjoyed every one of those 45 years of teaching and having the association with young people.

Ralph was a deacon in the Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, Lions Club member and a 32nd degree Master Mason.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fleetwood Page; and sisters, Buena Page, Nell Page, and Vessie Page.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Lila Fay Page; sons, Ralph Edward (Eddie) Page Jr. and wife Marguerite of Kingsport, Tenn., William Reid (Bill) Page and wife Janice of Blooming Grove. He is also survived by grandchildren, Neil and Mary Alice Page and Laurie Wells of Kingsport, Tenn., Wendy and Brent Steele of Navarro Mills, and Rustin and Megan Page of Waco; and great grandchildren, Parker Page, Austin Page and Cody Wells of Kingsport, Tenn., and Colt Steele of Navarro Mills.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gantt, John Matous, Dennis Melton, Dan Patterson, Kenneth Southard and Keith Tunnell.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, 221 South Fordyce, Blooming Grove, Texas 76626.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove with Bro. Darren Heil officiating. Masonic graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
