Linda Louise Lee, 75, of Corsicana went to be with the Lord  Monday, March 18, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Coryell County, Texas to Milton and Aletha Maxwell  Oct. 19, 1937. She attended Gatesville High School where she was a star basketball player and was referred to as “Lightning Linda.”

Linda met David Lee at Bealls Department Store in Jacksonville where they were both employed. They married on May 23, 1958 and were married for 55 years.

Linda loved to cook big family meals especially during the holidays. She took pride in knowing that everyone looked forward to her delicious home cooking.

Her other hobbies included working in her yard, quilting, playing cards and dominoes with friends and family, and garage/estate sales. She also looked forward to attending sporting events to cheer on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Corsicana.

She was preceded in death by her parents Milton Maxwell and Aletha (Maxwell) Paul and her brother Rufus Milton Maxwell.

Linda is survived by her husband, David Lee; sons, James “Boo” Lee and wife Holly, and John Lee and wife Stacy, all of Dallas; daughter, Debbra and husband Edgar Anderson of Corsicana; her beloved grandchildren, JD, Jessica, Benjamin, Daniel, Melinda, Marc, Misty, and Janis as well as nine great-children; sister and best friend, Patricia Bell and husband David of Corsicana; long time dearest friend Wanda Meredith of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Corbin Roberts, John Ingham, Tyrus Sanders, Lee Lewis, Scott Watkins, Kameron Smith, and John Albritton.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.F. Risinger officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills Cemetery.

The family would like to express thanks to the ICU staff at Navarro Regional Hospital for their excellent care during her brief stay.
