Betty Jeanne Kent Cleere was resting comfortably in her home with her family when she passed away and went to be with her Lord on Thursday May 2, 2013.
Born in Stillwater, Okla., on Oct. 13, 1918, to John A. Kent and Eva Jones Kent, Betty grew up in Marlow, Okla.
She had lived in Dallas with her loving husband, John W. Cleere, since 1958, where she had a successful business, Betty’s Fashions, for over 30 years. She was an active member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church for all those years. She was also involved in the American Business Women’s Association, and was president of her chapter. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Cowboys and the Rangers. Betty loved nothing more than to be with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John W. Cleere; son, Kent Spivey; her parents, Eva Jones Kent and John A. Kent; and her brother, J.W. Kent.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarita Coleman (Ron) of Wichita, Kan., and their two sons, Kris Coleman (Carmen) of Wichita, Kan., and Kent Coleman (Rachel) of Concord, N.C. and their families; her daughter, Evalou Eeds (Mike) of Corsicana, and their children, Chad Eeds and Erika Eeds of Dallas; as well as five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Corsicana.
