— Mr. Jack M. Bell, 85, of Odessa, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at West Texas VA Health and Care System.

He was born on April 9, 1928, in Oakwood, to Jack Bell and Rosa Dodd Dushaine. He was reared in the Buffalo area until moving to Corsicana as a child and later lived at the Corsicana State Home for Children.

Jack was a loving, caring dad, grandfather, and friend. He attended Corsicana State School. He joined the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. Jack was later honorably discharged.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, loved the Dallas Cowboys, TCU, collecting knives, and also looked forward to the Corsicana State Home Reunions.

Mr. Bell worked in the oil field roughnecking for AW Thompson, Brown and Root, Dotco and Expert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rosa; wife, Juanita; brother, James E. Bell; and sister, Lucille Bell Green.

Survivors include daughter, Kathy of Odessa; son, Keith of Texarkana; grandsons, Nick Watson, Kanyon Ramirez of Odessa; brother, Roy Burns of Odessa; and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Don Lathrop, Roy Bell, John Phillip Bell ,and Jack’s best friend, Steve Porter, for all their love and support through these last years.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Luera officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
