Lila Fay Johnson Page, 94, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2013. The only child of Reid and Beulah Barber Johnson, “Gaw,” as she was known to family and friends, was born Sept. 3, 1918 in Mount Pleasant.
Fay loved to read the Bible and work crossword puzzles. She taught Sunday school at Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove for many years. Fay married Ralph Edward Page on Dec. 20, 1941 in Victoria.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 70 years Ralph Edward Page who died Dec. 10, 2012.
She is survived by her sons Ralph Edward (Eddie) Page Jr. and wife Marguerite of Kingsport, Tenn., and William Reid (Bill) Page and wife Janice of Blooming Grove. Fay is also survived by grandchildren Neil and wife Mary Alice Page and Laurie Wells of Kingsport, Tenn., Wendy and husband Brent Steele of Navarro Mills, and Rustin and wife Megan Page of Waco; as well as great-grandchildren Parker Page, Austin Page and Cody Wells of Kingsport, Tenn. and Colt Steele of Navarro Mills.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove with Darren Heil officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Melton, Marcus Melton, John Matous, Kenneth Southard, Dan Patterson, and Jeff Jenkins.
