Ross N. Irvin, 83, of Granbury passed away at Harris Methodist Hospital, Fort Worth on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
He was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Hill County to Walker Mitchell Irvin and Dulcie Marie (Aldridge) Irvin.
Ross graduated from A&M University in 1950 and worked in various agriculture businesses for over 50 years. He served on many committees and boards for both A&M and national fertilizer organizations. After retirement in 2005, Ross and wife Marylou settled in Pecan Plantation on Lake Granbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Irvin, sister Montrue Doty, Marie Ramsey, and Ann Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marylou Irvin; daughter Deni Beam and husband Otis; sons Greg Irvin and Scott Irvin; grandchildren Chris Taliaferro and wife Cheryl, Brad Beam, Matthew Beam and wife Lacy, Mackenzie Irvin, and Claire Irvin; great-grandchildren Madison and Sam Taliaferro; brother W.M. Irvin; and sisters Edna Orr, Yvonne Lawrence and Dell Irvin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, Granbury where Ross is a member.
