Billy Gene Keel, age 86, of Streetman, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Palestine Regional Hospital. He was born in Streetman May 22, 1927 to Kirby and Morah Keel.
Billy Keel was a veteran who served in the Army and worked at the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Streetman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kirby Keel, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Fryda (Holcvegaite) Keel, daughters Linda Collvins and husband Penny of Benbrook, Karen Johnston of Fort Worth, Lisa Beel and Shirley Keel of Streetman, sons James Keel and wife Ann of Streetman, David Keel of Streetman; sisters, Marceline Bohnas of Fort Worth, and Glenda Gentry of Abilene, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home in the Corsicana Chapel.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman with Rev. Elton McCann officiating.
