Their move to Corsicana presented her an opportunity to pursue additional training as a Community Center Leader. Her tenure in this position benefited the residents of her community through the many arts and crafts and sewing classes she conducted. She later worked as a dietician with a Head Start Government and Community Program until she retired. While living in Alma, she was a member of the Alma Home Demonstration Club and was very active as a 4-H Club supporter.
