W. L. “Bubba” Andrews, 83, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at Ennis Care Center. He was born June 30, 1930 in Corsicana to parents, Marshall William and Thelma Jewel Andrews.
He was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a Texas National Guard reservist. He was a very avid fisherman, and had a great love for being outdoors. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, M.W. (Bill) and Thelma Andrews; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dewey Hickson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Clearcy Shoemaker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruby Nell Andrews; daughter, Rebecca Mathews and husband Charles (Matt); sons, Tracy Andrews and partner Wes Stacy and David Andrews and wife Wendy; grandchildren, Kristian Cruz and husband Joseph, Amber Antillon and husband Peter, Nikki Satterwhite and husband Mac, Laura Andrews, Rusty Thompson, and Marshall Andrews; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Dresden Cemetery with Chaplain Kirk Curry officiating. Interment will follow with military honors.
