John Hershel Singleton, resident of Corsicana, passed away on Thursday evening, Nov. 14, 2013 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
He was born on March 8, 1929 to John Franklin Singleton and Mary Maxine Jones Singleton in Pampa, Texas. He served in the United States Army in Korea and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Eureka.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Janice.
He is survived by his wife Bettie J. Singleton; son, Bob Singleton and wife Ruth Ann; daughter, Sherri Ross and husband John Paul; brother, Tommy Singleton and wife Lucy; sister, Markey Hollowell and husband Carl; grandson, Tony Aguado and wife Jennifer; grandson Eric Singleton and wife Kasey; granddaughter Nicole Hill and husband Josh; and granddaughters Melissa,Tralena, and grandson Alton; as well as great-grandchildren Megan, Sydney, Tristin, Madison, Mattox, Luke, Lani, Paislee, and Stoney, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He wanted to mention the following as good friends: Coy Hodge, Ro Winder, Wade Gillen, Buddy and Jane Ross, David Proctor, Derek Rogers, Steve Smith, Damon Stotts, LeAnn McCollum, Tom and Amy Lester, Fred and Linda Mooneyhan, and Harold Gilbert.
Services are 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana on West Highway 31.
Viewing will be Saturday morning till Sunday afternoon at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home.
