Edwina Coltharp White, age 81, died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Grace Presbyterian Village in Dallas.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas White of Corsicana, and her parents, Alliene and Glenn Coltharp of Clarksville.  

She is survived by one daughter, Julian Cirrincione of Fort Stockton, Texas; grandchildren Austin Sipes, Christin and Forrest Williams and Kara Cirrincione, two great-grandchildren, Sonora Jane Cirrincione and Bettysue Alliene Williams; her husband’s five sons; her twin sister, Mrs. Glenna Godsey of Denison, and sister Mrs. Jane Loflin and husband, Ed, of Dallas and Corrinne Crow Stokes and husband, Fred, of San Antonio; and many nieces and nephews.

She also left behind two very special people in her life … Julia Wade, her loving caregiver for five years and Trinidad Gonzales from Mexico, who lived and worked on their farm for many years. Mrs. White was born in Clarksville, where she grew up. She recorded her childhood antics with Glenna in her book Twin Tracks. She graduated from Clarksville High School, and later earned Baccalaureate and Masters Degrees from what was then East Texas State University, now Texas A&M at Commerce.

She was actively involved in the community teaching at Kerens School, Corsicana High School and Navarro College and was active in theater productions at The Warehouse Living Arts Theater, a local community theater. Edwina loved her involvement at the Kinsloe House and Corsicana Newcomers Club, often giving programs and book reviews. She was proficient in acting, singing and dancing. She was also a writer, artist and animal lover. She enjoyed gardening and raising vegetables which she generously shared. She and her husband lived on a farm south of Corsicana on Richland Chambers Lake where they often entertained. They will be remembered fondly for their New Year’s Eve parties which always ended at 9 p.m. She was well known and loved by family and friends.

Mrs. White was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Corsicana.  

A memorial service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 with visitation at 10 a.m.  She will be interred in the church Columbarium next to her beloved husband, Thomas White.
