Hubert Lee DeChaume, 69, of Corsicana passed away on Aug. 20, 2013, at Navarro Regional Hospital.
He was born in Powell on April 29, 1944, to Frank and OD (Capps) DeChaume.
Hubert was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church for many years. Every time the doors were open, he was there. He was a family person. He loved getting together and having cookouts. He also loved to go camping and fishing before health issues made it impossible.
He worked for many years for Haynie’s Drilling as an oilfield worker, and for Thomas Dyer as a ranch hand.
Hubert DeChaume is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Herbert Lee DeChaume; six brothers, Junior Schedule, George, Ernest, Frankie, Eugene, and Billy Wayne DeChaume; and one sister, Anne Faye DeChaume.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Jean (O’Pry) DeChaume of Corsicana; three sons, Hubert DeChaume and wife Amye of Purdon, Halbert DeChaume and wife Brandy of Corsicana, and Qubert DeChaume and wife Charla of Corsicana; two daughters, Barbara Nelson and husband David of Corsicana, and Betty Pulliam and husband Mel of Palestine. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Earl DeChaume and wife Liz of Corsicana; three sisters, Martha Atkinson and husband Jack of Purdon, Lillian Sanders of Oakwood, and Lilly Lee of Kerens. Hubert was also blessed with 22 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th Street, Corsicana, with the Rev. Chad Owens officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert DeChaume, Eugene DeChaume, David DeChaume, John John DeChaume, Marvin O’Pry, Daniel Thompson, Scotty Lewis and Ray O’Pry.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Allen Bailey, Jimmy Lee O’Pry, John O’Pry, Roy O’Pry and Kenneth O’Pry.
