Private services will be held at a later date for Jimmy Earl Sumner who passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 10, 1931, to parents James Henry and Pearl Ann Sumner of Corsicana.
Jimmy lived in Dawson before moving to Park Place Rehab and Nursing in Tyler, where he made many friends and received excellent care. He served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the airplane carriers The Valley Forge and the Oriskiny.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie; four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his sister, Candy Jean Texeira of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy donated his body to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
