Murrell “Buddy” Foster, 79, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at home with his family. He was born Feb. 7, 1934 in the Black Hills community to parents, Sidney and Ethel Foster.
Buddy attended school in Emhouse. He worked as an ironworker for 50 years. An avid fisherman, he lived life to its fullest, and he did it his way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jodi Stotts; daughter and son–in-law Susan and Tom Heitman; sisters Mary, Ernestine, Florence, Lucille, Kathryn, Myrtle, Shirley and brother, Sidney, Jr.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Judy Foster. Buddy is also survived by daughters Laila and Amber Foster, Charman Berrier and son, Murrell “Bubba” Foster, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and Richard Kolar, Janette and Mike Moline and Yolanda and Tim Pederson. Buddy is survived by his mother-in-law, Linda Smitherman, best friend Charlie Hayes and Bonnie, his dog. He is survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bo Loftis officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat. Pallbearers will be Charlie Hayes, Tommy Grisham, Nolan Benton, Michael Benton and Gary Benton.
