Gilda Verline (Stiffler) Roberts passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Dallas.
Gilda was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Garland to J.D. and Patricia Verline (Browning) Stiffler. Gilda loved to spend time with family and loved to care for animals, going above and beyond taking care of any animal to nurse them back to health. The most important events for Gilda were having children, the birth of her grandchildren and being married to James for over 30 years. Gilda was a wonderful wife, mother and the best Mawmaw to her grand kids. She was compassionate, funny, loving, kind and tender. She and her husband were members at Southside Assembly of God in Garland.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Stiffler; sister-in-law, Linda Stiffler; and brother-in-law, Jerry Martin.
Survivors include her husband, James Roberts Sr.; mother, Patricia Stiffler; sons, Brad Bacon (Lori), James Roberts Jr.; daughter, Lucretia Verline Littrell (Phillip); grand children, Trevor Bacon, Kara Bacon, Brennan Bacon, Zoe Verline Fulgham, Taylor Fulgham, Ethan Milatz, Jameson Leon Roberts, Jordan Littrell, Bella Littrell; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gilda’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Southside Assembly of God, 1648 Axe Drive, in Garland.
