June Barnett Rogers

June Barnett Rogers, 93, of Corsicana passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village.  She was born April 5, 1920 to Wade and Lillian Barnett in Ardmore, Okla.

June was married to her late husband, David Crockett Rogers for almost 50 years. He passed away in 1986. June was everything a wife, mother and grandmother should be. She was loving, kind, compassionate and wonderfully nurturing.  She cherished her family; she baked for them, sewed for them, and grew a flower garden for them. She worked as a waitress for many years in order to be self-sufficient and care for her family. In her later years June spent many hours caring for the elderly. She was happiest when surrounded by her loving family.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, and one of her sons, Jerry David Rogers, and her daughter, Sonja Howard.

She is survived by her son Ronald L. Rogers and wife, Joyce of Mena, Ark.; her grandchildren; Lori Fulton and husband, Kevin of Corsicana, Chris Hartwig of Mena, Ark., Kayla Reed of Corsicana, Timmy Howard of Corsicana, Lisa Starkey and husband, Jesse of Corsicana, Doug Rogers and wife, Judy of Gainesville, Windy Jordan and husband, David of Phoenix, Ariz., Rodney Rogers and wife, Susan of Orlando, Fla., Misty Rogers and Shawn Rogers of Tulsa, Okla., Gina Taylor and husband, Jay of Teague, and Paulette Campbell and Ronnie Doucet both of Louisiana. June is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June, 25 2013 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Luera officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Pallbearers will be Ruben Frye, Max Hartwig, Danny Howard, Donald Ray Howard, Jason Starkey and Josh Starkey. Honorary pallbearers will be David Allen Howard and Doug Rogers.
