Corinne Brooks Crider

Mrs. Corinne Brooks Crider, 92, of Austin and formerly of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center of Duval in Austin.

She was born Oct. 2, 1920 in Mabank to parents Horace Brooks and Florence Lillian Pickle.

She attended and graduated from Corsicana High School in 1938, and then later attended business college. She was employed with Corsicana Independent School District for many years as a secretary at the high school. After retirement she enjoyed taking care of her family; which she had a great love for. She was a member of the Westhill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Crider Sr.; parents, Horace and Florence Brooks; brothers, Hobart and Lloyd Brooks; and a sister, LaVoe Butler.

She is survived by her son, Robert D. Crider, Jr. and wife Julia of Austin; granddaughters, Martha Crider of Austin and Rebecca Herbold and husband Chris of Houston; grandson, James Crider and wife Lisa of Houston; great-granddaughters Avery Crider, Olivia Crider, and Katelyn Herbold of Houston; great-grandsons Jacob Crider and Jack Herbold of Houston.

Visitation with the family will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery with Mr. Andy Chavarrilla officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
