Lila May Wyatt

Lila May Wyatt, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.

She was born Aug. 15, 1918 to William Arthur Obuch and Lila Barnett Obuch in Enid, Okla.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William David “Hank” Wyatt.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Lowrance and husband Larry, David Wyatt, Vaughn Wyatt, Candace Wyatt, and Kim Wyatt and wife Kim; grandchildren, Kyle Sweeney and wife Jill, Emily Shackelford and husband Reid, Jamie Wyatt and wife Suzanne, Angela Hammond and husband Isaac, Wyatt Turner, Rebecca Wyatt, Meredith Wyatt, Erin Derden, and Matthew Derden; and seven great-grandchildren, Isabella Sweeney, Aidan and Lainey Shackelford, Jackson, Tanner and Luke Wyatt and Allison Hammond.  

Lila was very active in The Navarro County Association for Retarded Citizens and was instrumental in starting the NCARC Annual Fair. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was active in FUMC Circle I. Lila enjoyed membership in Le Livre. She was an avid bridge player and served as President of the Kinsloe House. Lila was a member of the Corsicana Writer’s Club. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution James Blair Chapter since 1965. She graduated from Oklahoma University. Lila was a devoted mother and wife and spent her life making a warm and loving home for her family. She was gracious and kind to all who knew her.  

A private graveside service was held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 9 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating.  

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Stained Glass Window Fund at 320 N. 15th Street, Corsicana, Texas 75110.
