— Enelda Elizabeth Niles,85, went to join her late husband from her earthly home to her heavenly home, on May 18, 2013.
Enelda was born in Hillsboro, Texas on March 25, 1928, but spent her childhood and youth in Corsicana. She married her childhood sweetheart and spent most of the next 66 years with him in Waco. She was a devoted mother of four children active in church and the Girl Scouts. She also supported her family financially by working at Graham Embroidery for 20 years.
If you ever came to her home at dinner time, you would always be greeted with a smile, a cheerful message, and a hot, delicious meal. Enelda, affectionately known as Mamaw, will always be remembered for her joy, her laughter, her hospitality, her devotion to family and her love for her Lord and Savior. Enelda was a covenant friend to many, especially the “Rowdy Ruth” Sunday school class of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Henry Niles, her son, Norman Timothy Niles, her son in law, Ross Neal Rogers, her parents, Ernest and Inez “Ann” Mitchell Jones, her brother, Morris Milton Jones, and her sister, Joyce Ernestine Armstrong.
Enelda is survived by her daughters, Jamie Elizabeth Baker and her husband James Michael of Lakeside, Debra Jone Golden and husband David of Lorena, son, Ken Morgan Niles and wife Candy of Baytown; ten grandchildren and their loving spouses, twenty-five great-grandchildren with one more on the way; admiring nieces and nephews, and several covenant friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco.
Her celebration services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. at 10 a.m. with interment following at Waco Memorial Park.
