Ricky Lynn Kelly

Ricky Lynn Kelly, 60, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born Jan. 23, 1953 in Corsicana.

He loved being outdoors, and had a great passion for raising cactus. He was a drummer in his early years for several bands, and was an avid lover of music. He worked for Douglas’ Food Store for many years, and then later on worked as a mail room clerk for various newspapers. He had served as President of the union for those newspaper companies. He has a kind and compassionate heart for animals.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Patrick Kelly, Jr.; his mother, Billie Johnston; grandmother, Minnie Ruth Kelly; step-father, G.W. Johnston; and step-sister, Virginia Montfort.

He is survived by the apple of his eye, his daughter, Kristina “Tia” Kelly of San Antonio; his sisters, Linda A. Hardin of Corsicana; Yvonne (Shelly) Mazrozsan and husband Sandor of Tyler; Step-sister, Beth Niedringhaus and husband Mark of Palmer; his niece and nephew, Jeb and Ashton Blalock of Tyler; and numerous step nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Susan Seago.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at Trinity Assembly of God Church with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Pat Kindle, Billy Sykes, Mike King, Gary Poe, Floyd Spain, and Tommy Hardin. Honorary pallbearer is David Bell.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Trinity Assembly of God Church at 109 FM 2452, Corsicana, Texas 75110.
