Luther Ryan McCurdy was born June 19, 1943 in Fort Worth. He spent his early years in Barry and Corsicana, graduating from Corsicana High School. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he served two tours of duty, being stationed in San Antonio, Alaska, and Greenland. After his discharge from the service he moved to Florida where he lived for the past 40 years working for Mastro Motors as Finance Manager until his retirement. Ryan passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
Ryan was a member of the Masonic Lodge and his hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was a avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
He is preceded in death by his father Carroll Clyde McCurdy; his mother, Lavoyce Boswell McCurdy and his niece Susan Ann Willis.
Ryan is survived by his loyal friend Irene Dillion; his son Luther Shane McCurdy and wife Andrea of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a daughter, Monica Wolf; stepdaughters, Debra Smith, Katherine Perreault and Sheila Pitts and also seven grandchildren. Ryan is also survived by his brother Bill McCurdy and wife Nikki of College Station; nephew Scott McCurdy and wife Caroline of College Station and their children, Scotty and Tara; nephew Tim McCurdy and wife Gina of College Station and their children, Kalee and Will; his sister, Judy Willis and husband Ronny of Corsicana; niece Ellen Lewis and husband Lee of Dallas and their children, Luke and Reid as well as numerous cousins.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon visitation at the Wicklow Inn.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial to the Susan Willis Memorial Fund at Believers Bible Church of Corsicana, or to a charity of your choice.
