Alto Fay Mahoney Hill passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the age of 82 surrounded by family. She was born in Spring Hill on Sept. 11, 1931 to Tom and Clytie Price. On Dec. 27, 1947 she married Maurice Mahoney and together they had three children. They worked at Collin Street Bakery decorating cakes; once their children were grown they moved to Haskell, Texas, to own and operate The Sweet Shop, which was their passion.
After Maurice's passing, Alto Fay moved back to Corsicana to be with her children. This is when she met and married Joe Dean Hill on Nov. 13, 1982 and was blessed with two more children. She was a long-time active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church until she was no longer able to drive. She loved serving the Lord and helping anyone she could. She was always there for her family and will be deeply missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice, daughter Janice Mahoney (at birth), son Tommy Mahoney, sister Geraldean Robinson and husband Joe Dean Hill.
She is survived by daughter Virginia McCaleb and husband John, son Marlon Mahoney and wife Connie, daughter-in-law Vicki Mahoney, son Randy Hill and wife Courtney and son Ricky Hill, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons David Mahoney and Troy Mahoney, son Randy Hill, Brad Fowler, Vince Keys and Jeremy Fowler. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rogers and his staff, Angels at Home and Hospice of Cedar Lake.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home with Bro. Bo Loftis officiating. Burial will be held at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
