Leora Lea Ross passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at the age of 98 and a half years at Navarro Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Franklin Ross. They were married Aug. 25, 1940.
Mrs. Ross is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Watson and husband Bronny and Pattie Willingham; grandsons. John Mark Watson, Jeffrey Matt Watson and John Ross McGlohen; granddaughter, Meghan McGlohen Gilbert; great-granddaughters, Meghan Elisabeth McGlohen and Lily Sophia Gilbert; brother, Ralph Hayden Richardson Jr.; sister, Bonnie Vaughn and husband Bob; and sister-in-law, Jennie Richardson.
Also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Hayden Richardson and Ina Pearl Bailey Richardson; sisters, Mary L. Crider, Maurice Wilson and Betty Richardson; brothers, Ben Richardson and Bill Richardson; great-grandson Jameson Gilbert and son-in-law, Noble Willingham.
For 17 years Mrs. Ross was a talented artist. She was employed by Corsicana ISD for 20 years. She also had an art studio at her home in Corsicana.
Mrs. Ross was a member of the Westhill Church of Christ, Corsicana Art League and Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Sam Dilbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Ross, Ricky Jennings, Dan Dominy, Millard Dowdle, Chuck Burns and Claude Ross. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Watson, Matt Watson, Ross McGlohen, Paskel Nichols, Don Bowen and O.L. Slaughter Jr.
