Marcialete McAfee Hettig, 94 of Richmond passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 in Sugar Land. She was born in Corsicana on Sept. 28, 1919 to parents, Leroy and Johnnie McAfee as one of 10 children. She was very close to her siblings. They were rarely found together without a deck of cards and shared many adventures and crazy antics. She was truly one of a kind!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gene; daughter, Deborah Ann; parents and her nine siblings.
She was affectionately known as “Granny” by her family and leaves to cherish her memory her son, John Hettig and wife Marianne; grandchildren, Ryan Hettig and Marcialete Hettig Voller and husband Julian; great grandchildren, Tanner, jake and Gabbi Hettig and Jordyn, Jackson and Jaycie Voller; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at the Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Fraze officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Hettig, Julian Voller, Dennis McAfee, Danny McAfee, Hal McAfee, Zach Brewer.
Honorary Pallbearer is Dick Hettig.
