Mrs. Barbara Harris Bowen, 78, of League City, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
She was born April 19, 1935, in Eureka, to Henry Clyde and Allie Mae Jackson.
Barbara was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She worked as a computer aided designer in the aerospace industry and NASA for 40-plus years. She was a writer and an artist in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, William Thomas Harris and William Henry Bowen; and son, William Thomas Harris III.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Diane, Sandra Kay, Pamela Sue, Lisa Gay and Rebecca Lynn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the youngest child of 11, and is survived by two brothers, Jimmie C. Jackson and Gilbert C. Jackson. Barbara leaves behind her four great longtime friends; Martha Little, Janice Weems, Maddie Chavis and Helen Ruth Wilcox.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jerry Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana.
Pallbearers will be Jeter Cherry, Thomas Claunch, James Province, William Young, John Cherry and Justin Cherry.
