Larry Capehart

Larry Capehart, 70, of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Ennis.

Larry Henry Gwynne Capehart was born on July 23, 1943, in Corsicana, now Navarro, to Orvil and Thelma (Monroe) Holt. Larry graduated from Corsicana High School and from Dallas Baptist University. He was a hard worker who took care of his family. He worked for AT & T for over 30 years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and had served as an Ellis County Constable. Larry greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, cooking out and watching sports. He was very involved in local sports leagues as a referee, umpire, and coach, and had coached baseball in Ennis. He was an animal lover, especially dogs, and his recent canine companion was Sadie. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Yvonne.

Survivors include his children; daughter, Monica LaQuay and her husband Lance, of Waxahachie; sons, Todd Capehart and his wife Jamie of Waxahachie, and Matthew Capehart of Dallas; his brothers, Don Capehart and his wife Rita, and Darrell Capehart and his wife Darla, all of Corsicana; and his grandchildren, Britni Capehart, Tristan Capehart, Wyatt LaQuay, Hanna LaQuay, and Madie Crow.  

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron Capehart, Shawn Capehart, Blake Capehart, Glen Pittman, Chris Battersby, and Al Dyer.
