Bill Smith was born in Dallas on Jan. 4, 1950 and took his own life Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the age of 63.
He was preceded in death by father, William Smith; mother, Virginia Bowers; and nephews, James Armstrong and Bradley Armstrong.
Bill was an avid bicyclist, amateur photographer, computer geek; loved cooking, music, White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum.
He is survived by brothers Gerald “Bubba” Armstrong and wife Nancy of Corsicana, Jerry Armstrong and wife Marilyn of Garland, and Ronnie Armstrong of Irving.
He served in the Viet Nam war as an Army helicopter crew chief and had Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology. He was employed by Texas Workforce Commission, Fort Worth.
He is also survived by special friends Lisa Holt, Lori King, ex-wives Gail Thompson and Karen Lee, and stepdaughter, Laura Stanley.
Bill’s wish was to be cremated. His ashes will be disbursed at White Rock Lake at a later date.
