The City of Corsicana and Navarro County have a new system for emergency citizen alerts and regular communication. Everbridge is an industry-leading interactive communication and mass notification solutions provider that helps organizations save lives, manage critical activities and improve the efficiency of daily operations. With the Everbridge system, the office of Emergency Management will be able to alert citizens about severe weather, fires, floods, toxic environmental issues, hazardous material incidents and violent crimes that are in progress within minutes. Having the same system is very important during emergencies that may affect both the city and county.
In addition to the emergency notifications the City can use the updated system to notify citizens about other important activities, such as road closures, water utility maintenance, special events, and many other non-emergency situations. The new system also provides the ability for city departments to make non-emergency notifications at no additional cost.
Messages can be sent to individuals throughout the city using a variety of contact methods, including cell phones, regular phone lines, email, text messaging, fax, pagers, and more. Citizens currently listed in the City’s 911 database will be automatically subscribed to alerts by landline. All citizens that wish to receive notifications by another mode must sign up. Any individual may self-register, change, or provide additional contact information by visiting www.cityofcorsicana.com or www.navarrocoutyoem.org. By registering on either site, information will be shared with both the City and the County.
There is no need to register on both sites. If citizens are unable to register online or need additional information, contact the Corsicana Fire Department at 903.654.4956 for assistance.
