Barry Masonic Lodge will meet at 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. All Masons are invited.

Navarro College jazz concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Dawson Auditorium on the college campus. The concert will feature the Navarro College Jazz Band and Collegiate Singers. Admission will be free, and the public is invited.

Home Rebekah Lodge No. 128, I.O.O.F., will meet at 6 p.m. at 3330 W. Second Ave. The lodge meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Visiting members are welcome.
Navarro County Relay for Life meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th St. Team motivation will be discussed.

Navarro County Republic Women will meet at noon on the seventh floor of the Bank of America Building. The organization is open to all Republican women in Navarro County. Anyone who is interested is invited to attend and learn more about the organization. The club is also seeking donations for postage and collecting items for military troops. Donated items will be sent in May to a military unit deployed from Texas. Lunch will be $7 and paid at the door. A candidates forum will be held at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Government Center, hosted by the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce. All locally contested candidates have been invited to participate in the forum. The public is invited.

Hospice Foundation of America’s 16th annual bereavement teleconference, “Diversity and End-of-Life Care,” will be sponsored by Navarro College Associate Degree Nursing and Hospice of Cedar Lake. This educational program, moderated by Frank Sesno of CNN, will be broadcast live from 12:3- to 4 p.m. at Navarro College in Bain Center, Room 400. Admission will be free. Navarro College PAL organization will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Cook Center on the college campus. All who are 60 and over are invited to attend. The program for the meeting will be Babbette Samuels, who will talk about Corsicana heritage. This will be an awesome program that you don’t want to miss. Navarro County A&M Club will accept scholarship applications through May 1. Applicants must have been accepted to Texas A&M University-College Station campus and be from Navarro County. Habitat for Humanity of Navarro County is requesting recipes from anyone willing to share. A cookbook is being compiled and will be sent to the printer soon. Dresden Cemetery Association will hold its annual “first Saturday” meeting. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at Dresden Methodist Church. Following will be a covered dish lunch at noon and a business meeting at 1 p.m. Your attendance is encouraged and appreciated.

Corsicana Art League will meet at 6 p.m. at the Senior Activity Center. Francys Flanagan will present an art demo for members and guests. Flanagan is an oil painter who is accomplished in using the traditional glazing technique first developed by the old masters. She paints figurative work.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave., Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961, and May 7, 1975, or in any duty location between Aug. 5, 1964, and May 7, 1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with application and dues. Members and guests are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Mosaic, a local non-profit agency which serves and supports individuals with developmental disabilities, will have its first spring sports spectacular from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fullerton-Garitty Park. This will be open to the public and a fun event for the whole family. This will include sports related and art related carnival type games and activities, a food booth and a silent auction. All funds will benefit the local agency in supporting the individuals that are served. Volunteers, sponsors, underwriters and general donations are needed. The annual Dawg Daze of Summer Sooner Chili Cookoff will be held at Gander Mountain, benefiting the Humane Society of Navarro County. A pet contest will be held at 10 a.m. with the following categories: smallest, biggest, best dressed, best trick and owner/pet look alike. Cost is $5 per pet to enter one or all categories. There will be a special appearance by Bill McFarlin and Star, his Brittany from CBS’ reality hit “Greatest American Dog.” Demonstrations will be given by Star and her companions Maggie and Lucille. The chili cookoff will include the following with entry fees and turn-in times: 50/50 beans, $10, noon; junior chili (ages 8 to 17), $5, 1 p.m. (chili grind only); CASI chili, $20, 1 p.m. (chili grind only).
