MLK Center board conducts a senior citizen program from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every first and third Tuesday of the month. Senior citizens are invited to come and be a part. The seniors do chair exercises, play games and make gifts for special occasions or events throughout the year. Pickett Riding Club buckle series will be held beginning at 10 a.m. the first and third Saturdays through July at arena, located on Farm-to-Market Road 709, five miles south of Corsicana. The series will be CI barrels, SA barrels, flag, poles, and keyhole. Cost will be $3 for exhibitions and $4 for events. Negative coggins required. Bi-Stone Antique Tractor Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office Training Center, U.S. Highway 84, two miles west of Teague. An expense account has been set up at Citizens National Bank, 3590 W. Seventh Ave., for 6-year-old Ashlea Jo Owen of Corsicana who has spina bifida. Donations to this fund can be made at Citizens National Bank location.



New Beginnings group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. every Monday in the family activities building at First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th St. All meetings are non-smoking.



Free GED, ESL and literacy classes are offered in Corsicana, Ennis, Fairfield, Ferris, Mexia, Midlothian, Red Oak and Waxahachie. Day and evening classes are available. Educational materials will be provided in the classroom. Navarro County Animals at Risk Foundation meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month in the sunroom at Heritage Oaks West. Visitors and anyone interested in animal welfare are always welcome. NCARF is also collecting empty ink jet cartridges, empty laser cartridges and digital cell phones to be recycled. Money received from the recycling will help the homeless and neglected animals of Navarro County. Instead of just tossing these items away, save them and save the life of a deserving cat or dog.
