Commissioners meet Monday
Navarro County commissioners will meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday in the first floor courtroom at the courthouse.
Commissioners will consider:
• A special events permit for Southport Marina Property, which wishes to lease its facility for a 10-band, May 17 concert to a promoter.
• An update on an application for a Public Improvement District requested by Southport Marina.
• A budget amendment for NCTCOG solid waste implementation grant.
• An addendum for to an administrative services contract with Tim Glendening in connection with FEMA grant funds.
• Six well requests by Texas M.O.R., Inc., an oil and gas company. The lake planning and zoning commission tabled these requests at its May 1 meeting.
• Four special use permit requests from private citizens regarding use of their personal property. Two concern placement of travel trailers and two are associated with storage buildings.
• A final plat for Lakehills Estates by Lundholm and Trahan, LLC. This property consists of 29.01 acres with six tracts in the S.L. Johnson survey and located on SECR 2140.
• A zoning change from Agriculture to Single Family-3 for S C and D Enterprises, Ltd. This property is located in the Robert Caradine Survey on South U.S. Highway 287.

Farmers Market to open May 17
Opening day for the Navarro County Farmers Market 2008 season will be May 17, located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Business 45, next to the Corsicana Daily Sun.
The Farmers Market will be open through September each Saturday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until sold out.
The market will feature vegetables and fruits grown in the local area, all with minimum chemical input and picked fresh daily. Growers will accept the Texas Department of Health food vouchers (WIC Program) for all eligible fruits and vegetables.
You are invited to come by and visit with friends and neighbors, support your market, and get healthy, fresh food for your family, all at your local Farmers Market.
