Million Mile Monday is calling all riders to join in for the Million Mile Monday ride to roll toward the five million mile mark. Riders will meet at the Northside Baptist Church parking lot near the youth building and cruise out at 5:30 p.m. and ride to the Yellow Rose in Gun Barrel City. Ride safe. Corsicana Public Library, 100 N. 12th St., will have its children’s summer reading program featuring “Extreme Fun with Debbie Day” at 11 a.m. Day, who dresses up in a lot of different outfits and takes on many different characters, will present a high-energy, fast-paced kids comedy production with dances, characters, puppets and audience participation. Corsicana High School Class of 1974 reunion committee will hold a street dance from 6 to 10 p.m. in front of Two Doors Down Coffee Shop, 106 W. Sixth Ave. Funds raised will help with the 35th reunion of the CHS Class of 1974. The public is invited to come have a rockin’ good time dancing to the sound of New Life featuring Todd Jones. A special invitation is also extended to the CHS classes of 1973, 1974 and 1975 to come to the street dance. Bring your friends and your dancing shoes. July 4

Blooming Grove Fourth of July parade will be held at 11 a.m. in downtown Blooming Grove. Lineup will be in the Blooming Grove High School parking lot between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Floats, horses, cars, bicycles, four wheelers, motorcycles, fire trucks, etc. are welcome. A big Fourth of July celebration will be held in downtown Dawson at 10 a.m. with a parade following a prayer and national anthem. Vendors will be on hand with good food for sale and shopping. There will be a barbecue cook-off, tractor pull, and car show. Billy Roy Mitcham and the Heart of the Night band provide music for a street dance that night. Please bring your chairs for seating. There will be fun for all the family. Reservations for vendor booths and entries for the cook-off and parade are available at the Dawson City office or by calling (254) 578-1515. No cost for registration, but reservations should be made.



Blooming Grove Historical Society will have a float in the Blooming Grove Fourth of July parade. Therefore, no meeting will be held on July 7. For more information, call (903) 695-2724 or (903) 673-2635.



Long Prairie Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at noon at Long Prairie Cemetery, County Road SE3230, Kerens. VOICE will offer the Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program, a state-approved program for minors charged with attempted purchase, consumption, or possession of tobacco and is designed to the mandates of Texas law. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. This session will be Aug. 11, 13, 18 and 20. Two separate sessions will be offered on these dates. One will be offered from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the other from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants are required to attend all sessions.
