The Wortham Bulldogs ran into a wall Friday.
Wortham fell behind 5-2 in the second inning and couldn’t put together any type of rally as the Bulldogs fell to Bosqueville 8-2 in the Class 1A, Region II Quarterfinals at the Southwest Little League Complex in Waco.
Bosqueville added a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Wortham in a 6-0 hole.
The Bulldogs (18-8) got an RBI-single from Brandon Lansford in the top of the sixth inning to finally put Wortham on the scoreboard.
Rypin Rodgers scored the Bulldogs final run on a passed ball.
Bosqueville added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the inning and held Wortham’s bats silence to get the win.
Jody Spain took his second loss of the season on the mound and was 1-4 from the plate.
