Pony league Blue team tops Kaufman

The Corsicana Blue team advanced to the area round of the 13-14 age group Pony League playoffs Tuesday at Irving.

Blake Whisenhunt was able to hold off the Kaufman All-Star team from the mound as the Blue team ran away with a 17-2 win in the district tournament.

Whisenhunt strike out nine Kaufman hitters, allowing just two hits in five inning of work.

Holden Grounds came up with a big home run for the Blue team, while Aaron Rainey and Dominic Kelly each scored four runs respectively.

Heath Donica and Whisenhunt both provided two runs on two hits for Corsicana.

The Blue team will compete in the area round on July 10 in Irving.
