The Corsicana Blue 10-under All-Stars rallied Thursday to move to within two games of making the Pony League World Series.
After getting off to a slow start, Corsicana rallied in the fourth inning to score 11 runs and went on to defeat Sachse 20-10 in Rowlett during opening round play of the Mustang division sectional tournament.
The Blue All-Stars scoring efforts were led by Tanner Richardson, Cole Stallings and Taylor Ward. All three players contributed three runs a piece.
Tanner Richardson got the win on the mound while striking out 12 batters.
With a nine-run lead, Corsicana’s Nathan Barber drove in Tanner Richardson in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the 10-run rule win.
The Blue All-Stars are scheduled to play again at noon today in the semifinals.

The Corsicana Blue All-Stars defeated the Corsicana Gold All-Stars 16-0 Thursday to open the Pony League Regional Tournament in Rowlett.
The Blue All-Stars used a big fourth inning, which saw 13 runners cross home plate to seal up the win.
Heath Donica pitched “four innings of perfect baseball,” coach Rusty Hitt said.
Jacob Petterson came in the fifth inning in relief.
Top hitters for the Blue All-Stars were Blake Wheisenant (2 hits, HR), Trace Shirley (2 hits) and Caleb Gunnels (2 hits).
