Corsicana went 2-1 in the Leon Tournament. The Tigers beat West Mesquite, 25-14, 25-12, 25-16 on Friday.
Caroline Biltz had 10 kills, two aces and 11 digs while her sister Briana led the way at the net with 12 kills. She also had 13 assists, 13 digs and an ace. Carly Cates had five aces, one kill and 16 assists and Teleia Braziel had 11 digs and an ace. MaKenzie Lee had three blocks, Kim Moreno had two aces and eight digs, Cecilia Lopez had 11 digs and Mychelletta Andrews had two kills and two blocks.
Kerens impressive at Eustace Tournament
Kerens made it the championship bracket in the Eustace Tournament for the first time in six years of competing in the tournament.
The Lady Cats lost to Eustace, 25-22, 25-20 and then beat Jacksonville, 25-15, 25-21 in the consolation bracket and then fell to Canton, 19-25, 25-15, 25-23 in their third match on Saturday.
They are now 7-3 for the season and come home Tuesday to host their first match of the season.
Breanna Wells had 21 kills, 12 blocks, six digs and was 20-of-22 serving with four aces on Saturday. Taylor Ames was 36-of-39 serving with three kills, two blocks and 35 assists. Tinesha Tolliver was 25-of-28 serving with three aces and three kills, nine blocks and four digs. Marqueshia Kelly had 14 kills and six blocks and Kayla Kilcrease was 23-of-25 serving with three aces and 12 digs. Cambree Betts was 18-of-20 serving with an ace and three kills, three blocks and three digs. Emmanuella Armant was 21-of-25 serving with two aces and six kills.
