GC Basketball: Girls Area Round -- Frost and Kerens move on with little trouble.

Corsicana — The Frost Lady Bears marched right through the Class 1A DI Area round game that had the promise of being close.

Frost took care of Blum 38-27 and now moves on to the regional quarterfinals.

The Lady Bears (25-2), who have been ranked in the top 10 in the state all season, will meet the No. 1 ranked Class 1A DI team in Texas when they face Lipan (33-1), which has only lost to Class 2A defending state champ Brock this season.

The two teams will meet at 6:30 Tuesday in the Mansfield High gym.

Diana Rios led the way with 15 points and Kaycee Bowling dropped in six Jae Moore and Karlie Scott added five each and Madison Revill (4)and Heather Montgomery (3) rounded out the scoring.

Kerens rips Chilton

The state-ranked Kerens LadyCats who have not lost a game in 2014, destroyed Chilton, 75-50, in the Class 1A DI Area round game, which was played in the Hubbard gym. It was the 15th win in a row for the LadyCats, who received a bye in Bi-district round
