Frost boys, girls sweep 19-1A track titles

— The Frost boys and girls track teams won District 19-1A titles Wednesday. The boys edged Abbott by 36 points, while the girls team scored 208 points to win the girls meet by almost 100 points.

In the boys division:

• Danial Steels (40 points), Josh Riojas (28) and Jacob Stroder (24) were the top three individual point scorers;

• Steels was first in the 100 (11.43), first in the high jump (5-6), second in the 200 (24.34) and second in the discus (110-1);

• Riojas took first in the 1,600 (5:25.59) and 3,200 (12:19.24) and was second in the 110 meter hurdles (18.98);

• Stroder was second in the triple jump (39-3) and fourth in the long jump (18-8);

• Cody Campbell was fifth in the long jump (18-7);

• Maliko Bruce was third in the shot put (36-5 1/2) and first in the discus (134-8);

• Chris Belcher was third in the discus (104-0 1/2);

• the 400-meter relay team of Stroder, Robert Worley, Mason Ferguson and Steels was second at 48.49;

• the 800-meter relay team of Worley, Damian Hernandez, Colton Clayton and Ferguson was third (1:45.62);

• and the 1,600-meter relay team of Campbell, Clayton, Ferguson and Hernandez was second (4:15.03.

In the girls division:

• the Lady Bears had the second through fourth high-point individuals in Jasmyn Steels (39), Jae Moore (28), Kadee Bowling (27) and Diana Rios (23);

• Steels was first in the 100 (13.14), first in the long jump (16-7 1/2) and first in the triple jump (35-0);

• Moore was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (22.41), first in the 300 hurdles (1:00.73), third in the discus (79-8) and second in the high jump (4-6);

• Kadee Bowling was second in the 200 (29.08) and first in the pole vault (6-0);

• Rios was second in the 400 (1:07.50) and first in the 800 (2:45.49);

• Heather Montgomery was third in the 200 (29.48);

• Morgan Elmore was sixth in the 200 (30.82) and third in the pole vault (5-0);

• Hillaree Schwartz was third in the 400 (1:12.07) and fifth in the high jump (4-2);

• Maria Suaste was fourth in the 800 (2:58.92), second in the 1,600 (6:12.01) and second in the 3,200 (13:00.4);

• Kaycee Bowling was fifth in the 800 (3:09.40);

• Katelyn Sanford was fifth in the 1,600 (7:15.65) and fourth in the 3,200 (16:07.39);

• Madison Revill was sixth in the discus (62-8);

• Dakota Lassetter finished second in the pole vault (5-6);

• the team of Lassetter, Schwartz, Kadee Bowling and Steels was second in the 400-meter relay (54.86);

• in the 800-meter relay Lassetter, Elmore, Kadee Bowling and Montgomery won with a time of 2:03.37;

• and in the 1,600-meter relay Rios, Schwartz, Kaycee Bowling and Steels won gold by more than 17 seconds with a 4:55.70.
