VB Roundup: Lady Tigers roll, Frost falls in district opener

Corsicana — The Corsicana High School volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Mexia on Friday night.

Briana Biltz led the Lady Tigers with 16 digs, one ace and seven kills. Caroline Biltz contributed a team-high 11 kills, along with seven digs and a pair of aces from the service line.

Cecilia Lopez also had two aces to go with 12 digs. The leader in digs was Jennifer Garcia with 18.

Carly Cates contributed a team-high 18 assists, two kills and six digs. Teleia Braziel had an ace, one kill and 10 digs for the Tigers. MaKenzie Lee patrolled the net for a team-high six blocks, Kara Schlenk had one kills and four digs and Michellette Andrews added three kills.

Blum 3, Frost 0: Frost fell in its district opener Saturday, 25-14, 25-22, 27-25 to Blum. The Lady Bears are 13-6 overall.

Heather Montgomery and Jae Moore each had six kills for the Lady Bears. Montgomery added three digs and an ace, while Moore had two blocks and five digs.

Hillarree Schwartz had four kills, six assists, four digs and four aces. Kaycee Bowling had five kills, eight assists, five digs and three aces, and Madison Revill had a kill, six digs and two aces.
