Mildred’s softball team improved to 3-0 in the District 23-2A race and 13-2 overall with a 10-2 win over Buffalo.
Aubyn Turner got the win on the mound an went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Lauren Hawkins (2-4, 2 RBIs) and Joanna Tapley (2-3, 3 RBI’s) led Mildred at the plate.
The Lady Jags improved to 14-4-1 and won a huge District 11-A game against Mart. Megan Walter went 2 for 2 and Hailey Davidson was 2 for 3
with a triple. Olivia Curtis got the win with nine strikeouts.
Dawson 15, Wortham 4
Pitchers Kaylee Martinez, Stormi Matthews and Caitlin Prince combined strike out four while giving up four hits. Dawson was led at the plate by Jalyn Miller who went 4-for-4 with two doubles. Miller drove in three runs and scored three runs. Michaela Greer (2-3, 2 2B, 4 R, 3 RBI), Demi Dotson (2-3, 1 RBI 1 R), Prince (1-2, 1 2B, 21 R, 2 RBI’s), Ashley Boatright (1-2, 1 R) and Sophie Kammerer (1-1, 1 RBI) also had big days at the plate.
The Bulldogs scored nine runs in the fourth inning and improved to 2-0 in district and have won eight of their last nine games and are now 8-7 overall. Witty Busby ( 1-3) Jordan Lansford (1-3), Haden Proulx (1-3), and Cole Shivers (2-2) led Wortham at the plate. Rudy Miller (2-1) gave up three hits over seven innings and struck out three to get the win.

Clay Waller got the win and Allen Knight (3-4, 1 2B, 3 R), John Aldama (1-1) and Jordan Harvell (2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 R) led Mildred at the plate as the Eagles won their District 23-2A opener.
