The Lady Tigers have lost and tied Thursday's playoff opponent Waxahachie this season.
Coach Stan Jones would like to see them play more like they did in their 2-1 road loss when the teams meet for the third time this season in Thursday's third-round playoff game 7 p.m. at Ennis Lion Stadium.
That might sound strange -- the Lady Tigers tied the Lady Indians 1-1 at Tiger Stadium -- but Jones thought his team played a more sound game in the game at Waxahachie.
"We lost 2-1, but I thought we played the better game," Jones said. "We just made the bigger mistakes."
The Lady Tigers (12-5-6) opened up the playoffs last week with a 6-1 victory over Dallas Samuell, scoring five goals in the second half. Elizabeth Castaneda had four goals to give her 27 for the season.
So Corsicana should have plenty of confidence after a decisive playoff win that wwas preceded by a 1-0 victory over Ennis in the regular season finale.
The Lady Tigers defeated Samuell in Ennis, so they'll have the benefit of playing at the same playoff site for a second straight game. And the same place where they tallied five goals in their last half of play.
"We just have to keep playing good soccer," Jones said. "Be a focused team."
