Navarro traveled to Austin Monday for a non-conference baseball game with Concordia University’s JV team, and the Bulldogs came home with a 10-1 win.
The Bulldogs (28-11) wrapped out 13 hits, led by three each from Clint Rupp and Campbell Cooper. Rupp had two doubles, a pair of RBIs and two runs. Cooper had a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs. Leadoff hitter Mason Salazar had a pair of hits and three runs.
Navarro led 4-0 after the first inning.
J.D. Hammer was one of three pitchers for the Bulldogs, and he was credited with the win after going three innings. He struck out eight, and did not allow a hit. Clay Brast went two innings, and gave up Concordia’s lone hit and run. He struck out three and walked one. Clint Wilson pitched the final frame, and did not allow a run despite walking three.
