GC Football: Kerens rips Dallas Gateway, 58-32

DALLAS — Nate Betts ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as Kerens notched its first victory in District 6-1A DI. The Bobcats moved to 3-4, 1-1 in district.

Gateway fell to 0-7, 0-2.

Betts’ lone TD pass went for 25 yards to Brett Anderson and put the Bobcats up 38-12 late in the second quarter. They would lead 38-20 at the half.

Betts had a 35-yard run in the first to make it 10-0 after Jovani Coronado opened the scoring with a 26-yard field goal. Betts and Anderson hooked up later in the quarter for 35 yards, setting up a Rayvon Faulk score from a yard out to make it 17-0 after the first.

Tavion Hall’s 40-yard TD run made it 23-0 early in the second. He added a 10-yard TD run in the fourth.

Dontarius Bryant has the Bobcats’ lone third quarter score on a 15-yard TD jaunt.
