Corsicana — Two of next week’s area football playoff games have been set for Golden Circle teams.

Hubbard’s Jaguars, who earned a bye in the opening round of the state playoffs after winning the District 9-1A DII title, will open their run in the playoffs at 7 p.m. on Thursday night at the Mart ISD Athletic Complex in Mart, where the Jaguars (9-1) face Chilton (9-2), in the Class 1A Region III DII area round of the playoffs.

Chilton beat Mt. Enterprise 58-14 to reach the second round of the playoffs.

Frost (6-5), which defeated Overton 42-27 on Thursday night in Palestine, will meet Tenaha (8-1) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night at Lindale’s Eagle Stadium in the Class 1A Region III DI area round game.

This is a rematch of last year’s Region III DI state quarterfinal game in which Tenaha hung on to beat Frost 34-30 when the Polar Bears fumbled at the Tenaha 2-yard line as time expired.
